Hello NYFW!

It’s all set and it’s finally here! NYFW kicks-off tomorrow and it will be the start of a wonderful fashion month. And while I won’t be there physically, I’m gonna pretend I am and give you the best coverage possible. New York City always has an extensive line-up, but also an impressive one. New talents and veteran designers put on a wonderful show and manage to get all eyes on the Big Apple for one week (not that the most wonderful city in the world needs more attention than it already has). I’m sure this season won’t be an exception, I can’t wait to discover what it’s store for us for the next Fall. To start with our coverage, I put together a little line-up of what we are going to be seeing on the runways starting tomorrow. Don’t know which shows are your cup of tea? Keep on readin’.

  • THE BIG SHOTS: they have been around for ages, everybody knows who they are (even those who don’t give a damn about fashion).
  • THE HEADLINERS: The true stars of Fashion Week. Young, innovative, talented, they are the creme de la creme.
  • THE GROOVY: Indie vibe? Retro swag? Old school style? They have it all!
  • HOLLYWOOD: When actresses and singers get creative.
  • THE COOL KIDS: Favorites among bloggers and street style stars, they’ve got swag, lots of it.
  • THE GLAM PACK: Love the red carpet numbers? Dramatic gowns? Shiny fabrics and textures? This is your box
  • THE ECLECTIC: A unique as unique can get, this designers manage to put together beautiful but edgy mash-ups.
  • THE ROOKIES: The newbies, the ones to watch.
  • THE CUTE BUNCH: Like picture perfect ensembles? Flirty silhouettes? Parisian chic?

Below you’ll find the official schedule from the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. A few names are missing, but for the daily list of shows and updates, LIKE Sweet n’Raw on Facebook.

Let the Fashion Week games begin! What show are you most excited about? I’m all about the Proenza boys, Thakoon, Altuzzarra and Alexander Wang. Be sure to keep checking back for all the scoop on NYFW.

Sweet kisses…

Coming soon, really soon…

Twice a year, I give myself what seems to be the impossible task: give you, my lovely readers, the best coverage a one-man team can handle. Yes, I am no style.com and I won’t have the runway shots, detail photos and reviews an hour after the catwalk but I do make pretty decent photo selections, I give killer (at least I like to think about it that way) reviews or funny ones and I put together Fashion Week worthy looks for each post. No, you won’t see me posing in my Giuseppe Zanotti pumps and holding my Givenchy Antigona clutch, with Lincoln Center as background but you’ll definitely find some substance, some fashion substance (hey, at least I won’t be posting random runway shots with “Loved it” as the caption). So if you want to read my humble opinion on the upcoming Spring 2013 shows, if you want a concise and short summary of the London, NY, Paris and Milan catwalks with a funny twist, then Sweet n’Raw will be waiting for you over the next month, with arms wide open and with big-ass posts packed with new fashion and trends. Meanwhile, here’s the recap of Sweet n’Raw’s Fall 2012 coverage.

Aren’t we all excited that February is here? You know what that means right? A month filled with fashion, style, trends, but above all, mayhem. Last September was Sweet’n’Raw’s first big Fashion Week coverage. I had done some Resort previously and every other A/W 2011 article for Journalism class but never before had I given myself the task of editing photos, writing reviews and even styling looks of the day. It was a hectic month for me, but in the end, seeing the results and knowing all that hard work was useful and appreciated by many, many readers, it was totally worth it. Now it’s time to go at it again (I can only do A/W and S/S, doing Pre-fall and Resort by myself would be suicidal), I’m already putting together some outfits and bracing myself for the madness that will be coming my way in less than two weeks. So here is a brief summary of what’s a Sweet’n’Raw coverage like. Here’s what I presented to all of you, my lovely readers, on S/S 2012.

Virtually, not physically, Sweet’n’Raw was present in all four fashion capitals of the World. With the wonders of streaming, I was able to witness most of the shows live (I was drunk for the Marc Jacobs one, but I was there after all).

Since my attendance to Fashion Week (except for Milan) was virtual, I played also a game called, “What I would wear”. It was intended to give all of my readers out there some ideas on how to dress up for this big event. From garments, to accessories and even nail polish shades, I offered all of you a total of 13 looks, complete looks and even beauty tips. All looks different from each other and all Fashion Week worthy!

Last but not least, this are the 91 accessories that I used to complement the outfits. They look all so lovely together!

Sometimes I find it hard to believe that I did all of this by myself, but I did. I am more than ready to take the Fashion Week bull by the horns. Now I have a mission, to break my record and give you more posts filled with fashion, style and runway than last season. Are you ready for fashion month? I am, bring it on folks!

Sweet kisses…

PS: I have not forgotten our Mash-up series, I will be back with that tomorrow.
