Flashy Fancy Pants: MUSTARD

Good Sunday my sweet readers! With chilly days like this one, going out is not an option. Coffee, bed and a series marathon (it was BBC’s Merlin’s turn today) sound like a perfect plan. One of the perks of being a blogger is that it is absolutely possible to work under a bunch of blankets (only if the drawing part is ready to be edited, thank God I had my dummies for today’s post done). So I have not been slacking off, it has been a rather productive day working from my comfortable bed. As I told you before, we are in the middle of our Flashy Fancy Pants series of posts. Today is all about Mustard! Mustard was one of the strongest color trends we got to see on the runways on February and although it’s supposed to be a color that flatters only certain complexions, if styled in a smart way, it can be for everyone. Dressing head to toe in mustard in definitely not an option for any complexion at all, you can seriously be mistaken for a jar of Dijon, but wearing an element or two can be fun and really interesting. Here is what I prepared for you today:

AS SEEN IN: Cynthia Rowley, ACNE, Hermes, The Row

THE LOOK

When thinking about styling this mustard pants look, I immediately knew I wanted to do something Navajo casual but always chic. Let’s see if I pulled it off. I chose a pair of mustard skinny zip trousers from TOPSHOP.┬áI paired it with what seemed the perfect element, a denim button.down shirt with a loose and classic fit from Urban Outfitters. The navajo element had to come from the jacket, for this cold Fall days, this cozy, woven one with sherpa lining from Urban Outfitters is just what we needed. For the shoes, navy platform booties was all I could think about, they can be found over at Urban Outfitters.

For the bag, if we are going for a cool and laid back kind of vibe, the Caramel PS1 from Proenza Schouler in suede is just that and more. For accessories, a funky ring mix: a green stone one from ASOS, the crimson skull one from TOPSHOP and a House of Harlow┬ánumber with an ethnic print. For the nails, a lovely shade of dark red. It’s all about Essie’s Brownie Points.

That’s it for today folks! Three down, three more to go!

Wishing you a cozy and relaxing Sunday,

Sweet kisses…
