Flashy Fancy Pants: COBALT

Finally Friday fun my sweet readers (not so much for me, I’m stuck at home in bee mode)! After seven colorful posts, we have reached the end of our Flashy Fancy Pants series. Without further ado and last but definitely not least (this was among one of the most used colors on the Fall 2011 runways), I give you the always electric, show-stopping and head-turning Cobalt blue.

AS SEEN IN: Yigal Azrouel, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Thakoon, Karen Walker

THE LOOK

A flashy color like Cobalt calls for some fireceness and that’s exactly what I tried to achieve with this outfit! You are the judge, did I pull it off? My bottom of choice were this skinny trousers from ASOS, I love the fit and also the fact that they are perfect to show off a killer shoe. I have to be honest about the top, it was the inspiration for the whole ensemble. This tiger sweatshirt from Nasty Gal is as cool as a sweatshirt can get. No need to tuck it in, it just falls perfectly on top of the pants. For the shoes and to finish off that GRRR factor, Aldo leopard, pointy pumps which can be found at ASOS.

For the bag, let our jaws drop together and let’s drool all over our keyboards with another one of Mr. Alexander Wang’s masterpieces, the Rocco, now in Yellow Citrus (the Gollum inside me is desperate to hold it and scream “MY PRECIOUS!”). For accessories, one of my favorite watches (watches to me are like bracelets, that’s why the cheaper the better), Casio’s Gold pleated one. It’s retro, it’s fun and it’s gold! Ok, I am starting to feel possessed by Gollum. I added a knuckleduster spiked ring from Bling Deenie to keep on having fun with the whole ensemble. You can find the ring at Farfetch.com. And for the dark twist, Butter London’s Union Black Jack nail polish.

You likey? I kind of love it!

That’s a wrap everyone! We are dunzo with the bright pants! Now it’s time to practice!

I wish you a lovely weekend!

Flashy Fancy Pants: JADE

The weekend is almost here and we are almost done with our Flashy Fancy Pants series, 5 down and one to go after this post. Milan’s getting colder and colder by the second but the great thing is we still get to wear bold, bright colors thanks to this season’s trends! I have prepared for you a look in Jade, this color is not only beautiful but also flattering, the effect against the skin is amazing (I’m so pale right now that maybe some Jade can save me from being mistaken for a corpse).

AS SEEN IN:  3.1 Phillip Lim, Yigal Azrouël, Vanessa Bruno, Hermes

THE LOOK

Cheery and cozy, two words that are constantly on my mind when Fall’s cruelest wind and cold hit my lovely bones. I think this ouftit reflects just my state of mind, don’t you? For this jaded look I chose a pair of skinny pants with low rise from Nasty Gal. Since the temperature has seriously dropped, a playful jumper is in order. This is one of the cutest sweaters ever and you can also find it over at Nasty Gal, God how I love this store! Over this lovely garment, we need some hair. And yes, I am now obsessed with hairy coats (as you can see, I acquire new obsessions daily) so this beauty from River Island is just the thing! I know that this is a laid back ensemble, but to make it more chic we need some heels and this belted booties in tan from Modcloth.com seem both comfy and cute.

For the bag, there is only one purse in my world that can offer that effortless chic vibe when sporting casual ensembles, the Balenciaga City in this gorgeous shade of bright powder blue. For the accessories, this beautiful deer skull pendant and a double knuckle ring in Teal, both from Modcloth.com. For the final touch, give your nails a hype with MAC’s Hot’n’steamy Pink nail polish! J’adore!

To all those Americans reading, Happy Thanksgiving and to the rest of us, why not give thanks too for all the blessings we get to have!

Sweet kisses…

Flashy Fancy Pants: METALLIC

It’s Monday, dreadful Monday my sweet readers, and it’s freezing cold! Here for you, the fourth look on my Flashy Fancy Pants series. It’s all about the bling, it’s all about the glitz, it’s all about metallic trousers! It doesn’t get better than this, I’m a self-proclaimed shiny shit junkie. Metallic is not a synonym for clubwear as many people think, you can wear metallics even for breakfast if you wish if the styling is proper (never wear metallic head to toe, they might confuse you with the club’s shiny disco ball). So here’s an idea, since this week has just begun, why not start plannig a chic & chic outfit for this weekend’s fun night out!

AS SEEN IN: Moschino, ETRO, Marc Jacobs, Balmain

THE LOOK

Fancy dinner? Drinks with friends? This look is just the perfect thing for that! Playing down metallics with neutrals is definitely a big success. That is why with this outfit I went with soft colors for the garments and bold accessories. For the pants, I chose gold instead of silver because I wanted a warmer result. This amazing pair of trousers are from ZARA. For the top part, an oversized jumper in blush from ASOS for a casual/cool kind of vibe. I threw over a tailored, tux blazer (the tux trend is very IN right now) in cream from MANGO. For the shoes, I wanted some color impact and this bottle green platform pumps from Laurence Dacade were the answer to my prayers.

For the wild factor, this frame leopard clutch from French Connection can be found over at ASOS.com. Jewelry? Two gold bracelets, both from ASOS: one with spikes and the other with a heart charm. One ring: the classic ARTY from YSL.

For beauty, a simple updo will do and for your nails: Deborah Lippmann’s Dark Side of the Moon.

Want all the juiciy details on today’s look, click HERE and check them out!

You likey? Feel free to comment! I still have two more flashy pants posts in store for ya! Come back to check them out!

Sweet kisses…

Flashy Fancy Pants: MUSTARD

Good Sunday my sweet readers! With chilly days like this one, going out is not an option. Coffee, bed and a series marathon (it was BBC’s Merlin’s turn today) sound like a perfect plan. One of the perks of being a blogger is that it is absolutely possible to work under a bunch of blankets (only if the drawing part is ready to be edited, thank God I had my dummies for today’s post done). So I have not been slacking off, it has been a rather productive day working from my comfortable bed. As I told you before, we are in the middle of our Flashy Fancy Pants series of posts. Today is all about Mustard! Mustard was one of the strongest color trends we got to see on the runways on February and although it’s supposed to be a color that flatters only certain complexions, if styled in a smart way, it can be for everyone. Dressing head to toe in mustard in definitely not an option for any complexion at all, you can seriously be mistaken for a jar of Dijon, but wearing an element or two can be fun and really interesting. Here is what I prepared for you today:

AS SEEN IN: Cynthia Rowley, ACNE, Hermes, The Row

THE LOOK

When thinking about styling this mustard pants look, I immediately knew I wanted to do something Navajo casual but always chic. Let’s see if I pulled it off. I chose a pair of mustard skinny zip trousers from TOPSHOP. I paired it with what seemed the perfect element, a denim button.down shirt with a loose and classic fit from Urban Outfitters. The navajo element had to come from the jacket, for this cold Fall days, this cozy, woven one with sherpa lining from Urban Outfitters is just what we needed. For the shoes, navy platform booties was all I could think about, they can be found over at Urban Outfitters.

For the bag, if we are going for a cool and laid back kind of vibe, the Caramel PS1 from Proenza Schouler in suede is just that and more. For accessories, a funky ring mix: a green stone one from ASOS, the crimson skull one from TOPSHOP and a House of Harlow number with an ethnic print. For the nails, a lovely shade of dark red. It’s all about Essie’s Brownie Points.

For all the details on this look, go to the Flashy Fancy Pants: MUSTARD list by clicking HERE.

That’s it for today folks! Three down, three more to go!

Wishing you a cozy and relaxing Sunday,

Sweet kisses…

Flashy Fancy Pants: FIRE RED

Happy Friday my sweet, sweet readers. As promised, here is look number two from the bright pants trend series. If you haven’t checked out the first two posts click HERE and HERE to read them. Today is all about fire red, a powerful and show stopping color not many people dare to wear. The success depends on how you style it, so let’s see if you like the way I did it!

AS SEEN IN: Monique Lhuillier, DKNY, Gucci and Michael Kors

THE LOOK

Since red pants are already a flashy and daring garment, I did not want to go with the whole rocker/biker chick kind of vibe. The red pants I chose are this fitted ones with side zipper pockets from ASOS. To tone down a bit the intensity of the color, I paired it up with the cutest jumper, also from ASOS, the cream Bonjour angora one. Underneath, for a more classic look, a black, basic button-down shirt from River Island. It is important to pick one with long sleeves so you have them peeking out from under the sweater (pick a slim fit so it doesn’t bulge underneath). To add some cuteness and since collars are very trendy right now, this ASOS chiffon bow tie is the cherry in top of our ensemble. For the shoes, I wanted some edge and if you want edge all you need is leopard in a bootie. This Mercer wedges can be found at Nasty Gal, one of my favorite online shops!

For the bag, I discovered this little treasure at Colette.fr, which is probably the best French concept store there is on earth. It’s a black grained clutch with stripes from Thom Browne. For accessories, quite simple: Chanel’s Blue Satin nail polish and Topshop’s  carved face ring.

For all the deets on today’s look, go to Fashiolista!

There you go, another day another bright look for you before the weekend begins! And remeber, we still have four more to go!

Sweet kisses…

Flashy Fancy Pants: FUCHSIA

Hello, hello my sweet readers! Remeber my last post about bright pants (click HERE if you haven’t read it yet)? I promised you I would give you some looks regarding this particular and lovely trend. One post, one look (I don’t want you overdosing on color trousers). Today’s is the turn of one of my all time favorite shades, the beautiful and girly Fuchsia. Let’s start, shall we?

AS SEEN IN: Brioni, Luca Luca, Prabal Gurung and Alberta Ferretti

THE LOOK

There is not one effect I love more than color blocking and when paired up with hints of neutral it’s just pure perfection. For this ensemble, the fuchsia pants of my choice were this tight ones from River Island. I tucked in a sleeveless silk top from TOPSHOP in jade (another big color trend this season, I’ll be posting in the next few days a look with jade pants). For coverage, hairy is in and bombers even more so, together they are a match made in heaven! This cute biscuit jacket made out of Alpaca and Wool is from Topshop. For the shoes, since this is coming out as a very trendy, trendy outfit, colored python is a must. Zara’s green snakesin pumps are very resourceful and affordable too!

For the bag, we are going neutral with one of the most beautiful bags my eyes have ever set eyes on, it’s gorgeous and it’s Fendi. The three tone Chameleon bag is definitely worth the splurge. Jewelry? Let’s keep on flashing! A vintage looking watch with blue snakeskin inserts and two enamel bangles: fuchsia and jade to mantain the harmony. And then the final touch, some electric blue with Illamasqua’s Force and Alexander McQueen’s skull ring.

For all the details on this look, CLICK HERE!

Voila! Whoever said Fall and Winter were supposed to be gloomy does not own a pair of bright trousers!

Have a lovely weekend and keep checking back for the rest of the colorful trouser looks!

Sweet kisses…

LEATHER ESSENTIALS: the top & the dress

Hello, hello my sweet readers! I’m back again with the last of my “Leather Essentials” posts. This time is all about the top and the dress, two items that are very in trend right now and that you can find in almost every shop. Leather is a powerful fabric and like all things powerful, it has to be used right or you can risk of ruining the whole ensemble. So here for you today, two more looks for you to try out!

THE TOP

Sleeveless, long or short-sleeved and even strapless, it doesn’t matter as long as it looks good and it fits right! For this occasion I chose a black short-sleeved top from Pied a Terre. I tucked it in some maroon tailored shorts from TOPSHOP. I love the color and the print is absolutely adorable (they come with a braided belt, but since the coat we used already has one, you might as well keep it inside your drawer this time). For your body coverage, I threw on this lovely skirted-belted coat form TOPSHOP. As you probably have already seen, burgundy is one of the top color choices for the season. For this chilly days, your legs are gonna need some warm aid, that’s why this knitted tights from TOPSHOP in cream are the perfect choice. For your feet, Topshop’s oxford booties, beautiful and affordable!

For the bag, they are so good I always go back. This fabulous Mulberry Bayswater Heritage satchel in pheasant green is absolutely amazing. For the accessories part, an all-time favorite of mine, fingerless gloves in tan! They are perfect for the outfit and they are simply fabulous! For the last rays of sun, Oliver Peoples Emelita square sunnies. For the final touch a couple of studs from Marc Jacobs and always a classic for your nails, Chanel’s Black Satin.

DRESS LOOK

Leather dresses can be tricky but they can also be very fun to style. For this look I wanted to play down the garment. I didn’t want a dressy, dressy result, I wanted a more laid-back one. This flirty mini dress is from Zara, I don’t think it’s available for purchase anymore but you can find similar ones at H&M and Forever 21. To tone it down a bit, this ASOS oversized cardigan is fabulous. I have a crush with cable knit so when I saw it, it was love at first sight. Since it was a bit sunny today, half bare legs with some socks seemed like a good idea, this ones are from ASOS. For the shoes, it is always important that the style goes well with the whole sock thing. I chose this Steve Madden Leopard ones, they are like a mary-jane/peep toe/wedge hybrid. I love them!

For accessories, the always dreamy Proenza Schouler PS1 Medium bag, a ring trio: from ASOS, the ball & claw, the eagle head and the arrow stacked ones from TOPSHOP. For your nails, Deborah Lippmann’s Bitches Brew.

That’s it, now you know all the leather you need to have in your closet to go through this season looking absolutely fab! Have a gorgeous weekend!

Sweet kisses…

LEATHER ESSENTIALS: The skirt & the jacket

I don’t know about you but rainy days make me über-productive, I have been sketching and drawing non stop! And you know what this means right? Tons of new posts and fashion coming your way, my sweet, sweet readers! For today I have some more leather! Remeber my last post, the one about the leather pieces you absolutely need to have inside your fall closet? If you don’t or haven’t read it, just click here to do so. Like your usual cooking recipe, after the ingredients come the directions, and in our very fashionable case: THE STYLING! So if you are ready to rock those killer pins in a show-stopping leather skirt or make that biker jacket of yours the star of your ensemble, keep on readin’ baby, keep on readin’!

THE SKIRT

This baby is no longer skin-tight and sexy, she has evolved into a more sophisitcated and chic version of herself. The leather skirt can now be found with pleats, volume, ruffles and other cute details never seen before in it. Taking this into consideration, I chose a Zara big seller, the pleated, leather mini (they also made it in blush, j’adore!). I paired it up with a duo I am loving right now, it’s kind of preppy chic, the sweater over the button-down. The blouse has a leopard collar which gives the whole ensemble a cute and wild kind of twist. The camel sweater from J. Crew has the perfect shape and fit to pull the look off! Since it’s chilly out there, I chose this “fake garter” tights, I am absolutely mad about them (a tip, get them while you still can). For the shoes, since it’s a bit too girly on the top, we gotta tone it down a bit. What better way to achieve this than with a pair of Alexander “the Master” (my master) Wang booties. Newsflash: this Constance boots are on sale over at the Outnet.

For accessories we have to go classic and classic means Chanel’s 2.55 bag in black. For jewelry, Topshop pearl clip-ons, a deep red ring shaped as a heart and the also classic Hermes enamel bracelet in black. For beauty, give your pucker some crimson with this Tom Ford lipstick and go for a high bun, you wanna show everyone your lovely earrings!

For all the juice on this look, CLICK HERE

THE JACKET

For the skirt I gave you cute, for the jacket I had to give you cool. Leather jackets have become must-have items, so here is one idea on how to put together a fun and laid-back, but always chic look. I chose this Zara python trousers, you should now know that python is all over this season. And since this is a very strong garment and we do not want the whole femme fatale look, by pairing it with a blush pussybow blouse and a v-neck gray sweater we add more freshness to the whole thing. And now to top it off, the leather jacket of your choice, I went with this one from Mango. For the shoes, a twisty detail. This Maison Margiela metallic oxfords took my breath away ever since I set eyes on them (for a nuetral junkie and a shiny disco ball spirit just like myself, that combo is just pure perfection).

For the bag, back to the Master. Mr. Wang’s Rocco Duffel in black. For accessories, a black spiked ring, a skull, cooper one and a gray bracelet fron Sence Copenhagen . For you beautiful nails, from Essie’s stunning collection, Cocktail Bling.

For all the dirty deets on this look, CLICK HERE

There you go! Two leathery looks for a leathery season. Four more coming up! Come back tomorrow to check them out and also, it’s still on the works but a big, big surprise is coming soon! Are you excited? I AM!

Hoping this rain will go away, sweet kisses…
