THE GOWN PREDICTOR

It’s double post Sunday here at Sweet n’raw. I never post twice in one day, but since yesterday I was unable to post my birthday illustration and today’s post can’t wait for tomorrow (duh, it’s an Academy Awards gown predictor)…. The Academy Awards red carpet is everyone’s favorite and each year, we wait anxiously for that moment (I won’t be sleeping tonight, I’m watching the whole thing). After the Couture collections, I decided that a “what should they wear” post was just the thing to do. Here are the Spring 2013 Couture dresses that I would definitely pick if I were to walk the carpet tonight!

Haute Couture Spring 2013: THE RECAP

COUTURE RECAP COVER

It’s the most beautiful and almost poetic display of fashion, a week where trends don’t matter and dresses turn into pure works of art: HAUTE COUTURE. Only a chosen few get to show their creations on the runway, in the prettiest city of them all, Paris. It’s lavish, it’s dramatic, it’s almost unreachable (Russian ladies like Lena Perminova and Miroslava Duma could wear Couture to bed if they wanted to) and it’s as dreamy as dreams can get. For this season, it was mostly about fantasy and fairy tales, magical forests and garden glamour. Here’s a recap, enojy!

diorThis was the second Couture show for Raf Simons as Creative Director of Dior. His first and fabulous one happened last Fall. His debut was stellar and successful, the kind of success that makes you wonder: “Will he be able to beat himself this Spring?” To those who had that doubt, he definitely outdid himself wonderfully. The setting was a beautiful as the collection itself, the Tuleries. Inside the venue, a picture perfect garden and a white path. The white path where models strutted showing icy gowns, heavily embellished dresses, evening trouser ensembles completed with bustiers, floral embroideries adorned his perfectly constructed, hourglass silhouettes. Overall, it was a precious display of fashion, but above all, a confirmation of Raf Simons’ signature style and the direction Dior seems to be taking.

G.VALLIGiambattista Valli has become one of the favorites and if you ask me, among the most talented designers of the whole bunch. His ability to construct beautiful garments and make them unique goes beyond reason, he is a truly gifted man. For his Couture collection of the season, he didn’t disappoint (for me, it was the prettiest and dreamiest of them all). His theme: Flora and Fauna. His colors: lavender and pink in a sea of dramatic black. The highlight of the show: the meticulous floral embellishments, the lavish embroideries on the final dresses and the exquisite shapes. As for me, I’ve never been one to dream about marriage but as of now, I really, really want to get married in the pink and lavender number (now I need a ring, a groom, and a bunch of cash to get me that dress).

chanel

Welcome to Lagerfeld’s twisted version of an enchanted forest. As expected from him, the set itself has no rival and leaves no room for comparisons. The first part of the show was all about classic Chanel: suits and tweed. Tweed dresses, tweed ensembles, tweed coats, tweed, tweed and more tweed. Then along came the lightweight fabrics, the sheer textures, the embroidery and the drama. The whole collection had an air of lightness and elegance, smartly paired up with striking eye makeup and feather headpieces. The shoes (we have now understood that Karl loves to reinvent the boot), thigh high or open-toe, full lace, boots. At the end and as Couture tradition dictates, he sent not one, but two brides, making a statement of support for gay marriage in France.

valentinoAh, Valentino never seems to disappoint. The Spring Couture show was proof about one thing, Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli are doing a killer job as Creative Directors of the Italian brand (Mr. Garavani must be seriously proud). Critics have dubbed it the best show of the week, the pictures speak for themselves: Long, dramatic gowns with beautiful embroidery and embellishments, hints  of sheer in all the right places, volume, tiers, asymmetrical hemlines, lace as you’ve never seen it before, almost poetic. It was magical, it was dreamy, it was everything a girl would want in a dress.

versaceWhere do I start? I know that Versace has created this strong woman, sensual siren image over the years. I know that after Gianni Versace, taking the reins of the brand might not have been the easiest job. I recognize Donatella’s hard work and I admire the fact that she has stayed true to her image and style so far. As for this collection, I just don’t get it. I don’t see the beauty in it (apart from two or three dresses), I see tacky, I see over-the-top and not in a good way (not that Mrs. Versace would care about my humble opinion). What I liked? Kristen McMenamy opening the show, the lavish venue, the magnificent Stella Tennant as the closer and the long, black, detailed gown. I just wish Atelier Versace would return to those Oscar-worthy dresses. I still remember Penelope Cruz on the red carpet, wearing that majestic blush creation.

e.saab

Elie Saab knows what he does best and he definitely knows his clientele. He always stays on the same line of design, colors and shapes but he manages to give a special touch to each and every one of his collections. For his Spring 2013 show, he put out a light and pretty color palette (except for the poppy red and the hints of black). As always, his meticulous beading and embroidery were the stars of the show. The floral textured dresses were so rich and beautiful, I’m sure we are going to be seeing a couple of them on the upcoming Academy Awards ceremony. My favorite part? The long-sleeve dresses with the top embroidery and the volume, solid-colored skirts.armaniI’ve never really been fond of Armani, I usually find his neverending runway shows a bit tedious and uneventful (I guess it’s a matter of style or taste, but he is not really my cup of tea). But this time, I have to admit, I was a bit surprised (in a good way). The show was filled with bold color, patterns and contrast, very different from his usual “1000 shades of gray” solid, silk, mid-length dresses. The evening trouser emsembles were the highlight of the show. It was refreshing and brave, and it payed off.

gaultierWe love Jean Paul Gaultier, and after this Couture show, we love him even more. We love that he doesn’t need that “collection continuity” almost every designer has. He puts whatever he wants on that runway and it works, it works to perfection. The inspiration was clear: refined gypsy. The colors, the textures, the shapes, everything was spot on. Of course, his signature corset made an appearance in blush and with lots of tulle fell from it. The end was the biggest surprise of the show. A bride in an oversize, structured dress appeared on the runway. She lifted the dress, revealing four little girls, dressed in bright colored dresses, running down the catwalk!

Ulyana

My second, favorite show of the bunch. Gone With the Wind was certainly what this talented Russian had on her mind when putting together her Couture collection. After her first and very Russian show last Fall, she surprised us with a nostalgic and unique display of fashion. It was all about the bustier, the enhanced waist, the dramatic gowns, the womanly shapes. It was so beautiful that it seemed fresh out of a fairy tale. Just so you know, the models did come out of a giant fairy tale book. A beautiful set for a beautiful collection!

margiela

The craftsmanship, the details, the constructions, it all screamed artisan. After a bunch of dreamy and fairy tale collections, Maison Martin Margiela gave us just what we needed: the perfect twist. Each ensemble so unique and so beautifully made, there was something for every taste. Simple, sleeveless dresses for the minimal, heavily detailed garments for the over-the-top (I can totally Anna dell Russo working the final look of the show).

hall of fame

It was a magic Fashion Week, full of drama, dreams, but above all, fashion at its best! It’s almost time for the RTW shows, who’s excited?

Have a lovely weekend!

Sweet kisses…

Office parties, dinners with friends, family get-togethers are filling up our calendars and gifts to buy are seriously piling up. We still have 10 days to finish shopping and wrapping our presents. Sweet n’Raw’s X’mas Shopping Guide: LADY BLOOM

lady bloom

Another day, another post! Today I have for you the second part of Sweet n’Raw’s Holiday Shopping Guide. Yesterday, the Francophile got amazing response from all of you and I sure hope that today’s personality gets the same treatment. As I told you before (also, if you didn’t read yesterday’s post), the gift  includes two selections: the pricey one (the splurge) and the affordable one (for us girls on a tight budget).

Today’s personality has two of my favorite things: she dresses like a lady and she is a sucker for flowers (even more so when she finds them printed on a pretty, flared dress). She is into ladylike silhouettes (pencil skirts, bubble dresses, cap sleeves, short jackets). She’s into soft and delicate fabrics (lace, crepe de chine and silk are favorites in her repertoire). She loves bows, she loves embroidery, she loves bold and dramatic colors (nothing tops a violet dress and a rouge pucker).  Her perfumes are spicy, but always on the floral side. She is into lively florals, it’s the Secret Garden all the way. So if you have a friend (or mother, or sister) that matches this description, this is the list you need to be looking out before venturing into tat X’mas shopping spree. Here she is: LADY BLOOM

splurge romantic

  1. Bikini set, Zimmermann
  2. Nail polish selection (Rose Renaissance, Violine Surrealiste, Beige Leger), YSL
  3. Lace jumper, Valentino
  4. Nude Oxfords,
  5. Jasmin Rouge perfume, Tom Ford
  6. Crystal ring, Bijoux Heart
  7. Lace & silk dress, Valentino
  8. Leather scented candle, Assouline
  9. Watersnake sunglasses, Linda Farrow
  10. Floral handbag, Valentino
  11. Crystal statement necklace, Bijoux Heart
  12. Carioca sandals, Charlotte Olympia

steal romantic

  1. Rose violet frame, Urban Outfitters
  2. Nail polish selection (She’s Pampered, I am strong, Lapiz of Luxury, Stylenomics), Essie
  3. Flower textured jumper, New Look
  4. Blue flower ring, Banana Republic
  5. Green statement necklace, Modcloth
  6. Summer Rose perfume, Stella McCartney
  7. Layer dress, BCBG
  8. Crochet doggy, Anne Claire Petit
  9. Glitter bow flats, Faith
  10. Gingerbread man bath & body, Philosophy
  11. T-bar sandals, Zara

I really hope this guide helps you find that special something for that special someone! Two down, a lot more to go! We even have something for the lads cooking in the oven, so be sure to check back!

Have a great day, the weekend is almost here!

Sweet kisses…

Sweet n’Raw does Chictopia vol. 11

Never, since I started the blog, had I gone sans posting for more than 10 days. I broke my record, I did 16 and I blame it on the wi-fi. I’m not gonna give you 1000 excuses, I’m just gonna make it up to you. I still have a bunch of runway reviews (even if posting them seems a little out of time) and new trends and series in the oven. Today I have for you another one of my Chictopia collaborations. They gave me the topic and this is what I delivered. Hope you like it!

The Hottest Ways to Wear Leather This Fall (Plus Extra Leather Essentials)

There’s no summer without sun, there’s no fall without leather. That is an unquestionable truth. Leather may have made the leap into the S/S collections a few seasons ago, but there is no doubt that when it comes to A/W, it is definitely the king.

When it comes to leather, just when you think you might have seen it all, along comes a new season. For Fall 2012, leather was a constant in almost every collection presented on the runway: Valentino made it ladylike, Thakoon injected some color in it, Tibi went all shiny disco ball and tired of wool, and Marni made coats out of leather. Craving to get some leather goodies this fall? Here’s all you need to know!

LEATHER ON LEATHER
→ As seen in: Valentino
1. Top, Maje 2. Cardigan, Marni 3. Shorts, Haute Hippie 4. Ankle boots, Burberry 5. Trousers, J Brand

It may sound dangerous, it may sound bolder than bold, but layering leather over more leather is one of the strongest trends this season. No, we are not asking you to look like you just got lost from the Sons of Anarchy set. No, we are not asking you to raid the Undertaker’s closet. No, we don’t want you channeling the Village People’s leather dude. And no, there is not a handbook on how to pull it off and how to avoid that Matrix Reloaded look. There may not be a formula, but here are some tips that can help us along the way:

- Go for solid garments. Textures, embroidery and embellishments may book you a ticket to the land of tacky, where Snooki is Queen.
- It’s not mandatory to go all black, you can color-block. Try putting together shades with a similar intensity: rusty with rusty, bright with bright, neutral with neutral and so on.
- Go for feminine or simple shoes. Thinking of adding a chunky boot? That’s Sons of Anarchy all the way.
→ THE LOOK: We put together a jersey top with a leather peplum and a pair of skintight leggings. To add more drama, a statement pendant and a pair of black pumps with multiple straps.

COLORED LEATHER
→ As seen in: Thakoon
1. Bag, Proenza Schouler 2. Jacket, Balmain 3. Skirt, Karl 4. Dress, Richard Nicoll 5. Ankle boots, Chloé

The Summer nostalgia is always around, no more leg flashing, no more lightweight fabrics and welcome heavy garments. What better way to cheer us up on those gray and gloomy days, than with a pop of color. We all know that a good, black biker jacket is an all-time wardrobe basic and that those black liquid leggings are a Fall must-wear. But we also know that in Fashion, you gotta think outside the box. And there, outside that box, is where we will find some fabulous and show-stopping colored leather. From bright pink leggings and bottle green jackets to royal blue shift dresses, leather just got a bright and fun makeover this Fall.

- You can choose to color-block (it doesn’t get better than a pair of bright blue pants and a pink blazer) or you can go for mute shades to make your leather item pop.
- Colorful, leather accessories can be the perfect twist for your outfit.
- A pair of Oxblood skinny pants or a bright biker jacket are staples for your closet this Fall.
- Don’t be afraid of adding fun details. Leather can be strong, but sometimes, just the right amount of leopard can make the whole thing work.
→ THE LOOK: We paired up the Oxblood leather pants with a Western embroidered shirt (another big trend this season thanks to the always chic, Isabel Marant). It’s an interesting contrast and the leopard slingbacks just make the ensemble more fun.

LEATHER SKIRTS
→ As seen in: Creatures of the Wind
1.Circle, Markus Lupfer 2. Colored, DKNY 3. Mini, Mango 4. Pleated, Miu Miu 5. Pencil, E Luxe

Forget about the bodycon leather skirt that has been hanging inside your closet for years now. New shapes, lengths and styles are in the house! The pleated one was already a bestseller last Fall (raise your hand if you are the proud owner of the Zara version) and this season, it’s making a comeback. The circle skirt is both edgy and feminine at the same time and pencil ones just scream sexy. The colored and metallic versions are fun twists to classic black. And last but not least, a leather mini is always welcome!

- With leather skirts, possibilities are endless. You can go for a button-down and a blazer for a clean and dressy look. You can pair them up with a t-shirt and Converse for a casual ensemble.
- A match made in trend heaven: mini skirts and graphic sweatshirts. Sweatshirts are the new black.
- For the shoes, add some edge with a pair of booties.
→ THE LOOK: A simple look with some special details thanks to the studs from the skirt and the graphic print on the sweatshirt .

MORE FALL LEATHER ESSENTIALS
1. Coat, Marni 2. Skirt, Balmain 3. Sweatshirt, DKNY 4. Top, Maje 5. Trousers, Mango

- Leather coats: Whether is long and black, fire red and glossy, a trench or coat with leather accents, you are going to want one of this babies hanging inside your closet.
- Quilted leather: Balmain mastered the art of quilting for Fall 2012 and while a lucky few can afford their $3,000 skirts, we are just as happy with Zara’s version of them.
- Combined garments: A sweatshirt with leather sleeves? A skirt with leather panels? Garments with a texture combo are a must-have this season.
- Leather trousers: From Cavalli’s leggings to Theyskens’ Theory’s slouchy pants, the Fall 2012 runways were flooded with leather bottoms.
- Metallic leather: Shiny leather? Need we say more?

Which leather trend is your favorite this Fall? We love and want them all!

NYFW COVERAGE: Board Shorts Gone Cute

Hello, hello my sweet readers! As promised, I’m back with more NYFW runway reviews. Pulling-off this coverage by myself is a lot of work (browsing pics, choosing them, editing them, putting the looks together, sketching, more editing, writing reviews, proofreading and so on), but it’s definitely worth it. In this FW edition, contrasts have been the main trend so far: the sweet versus the hard, the fabric mash-up, the print mix. Sheer is back, stronger than ever, and so are cut-outs. Florals are making their seasonal (and regular) comeback and jacquard will remain for Spring (thank you, Fashion God). The color trend? Surprisingly, sky blue (I kinda wanted this color around since Chanel released their Skyline nail polish). And please, for the love of God, stop saying that the harness trend is Fifty Shades of Grey inspired. Bondage has been around fro much longer than that and those collections were ready to be produced when that shitty mommy porn sadly became a sensation (sorry for the rant, I just had to put it out there).
Anyway, after what seemed like the longest introduction, here they are, the reviews of the day:

ALTUZARRA

As I stated on my last post, Joseph Altuzarra is part of my NYFW favorite trio (along with Prabal Gurung and Alexander Wang). Known for his eclectic and beautiful prints (talk about his tropical parrots from S/S 2012 and the graphic horse jumpers from Fall), this season he didn’t disappoint in that department (or in any department whatsoever). His collection lacked the usual Spring feeling, but that’s what made it so special. The thing about Altuzarra, he manages to twist the trends and revamp them. For this collection, he gave fringes a whole new meaning and reinvented the gladiator sandal (that shoe is gonna be all over the editorial world this coming Spring, mark my words). His shapes and tailoring? Flawless. An that jacket-over-the-shoulders thing, we better start embracing it right now!

JILL STUART

Last Spring it was the sorbet parade, this Fall the rocker chic vibe and now she gave us romance. One thing is clear, the Jill Stuart show never gets boring. The runway opened in black, black with a feminine vibe. As the show kept on going, the colors kept on changing but there was never brightness, all shades were mute (eggshell, blush, pastel peach and that aqua number). As for the shapes, everything was clean, everything was beautiful and everything screamed romance. Stuart’s elements included full skirts, straight trousers, sheer fabric, cropped tops (strong, strong trend), jacquard (designers can’t get enough of this fabric), lace and sequins.

The designer, for the evening part, had a clear 1920′s inspiration and a ballerina one with a twist. Her garments flattered the female form to perfection. As for the shoes, wide ankle straps were also present on her show. Overall, a pretty collection that didn’t need the bright color factor to pop.

RAG & BONE

Rag & Bone has got it going on! Definitely one of the shows with more swag when it comes to NYFW. Over the years, David Neville and Marcus Wainwright have mastered the art of layering and on their Spring 2013 runway, it definitely showed. They gave their looks a chic spin on sporty, that’s what made their presentation so special and interesting. Bombers paired up with flirty, flare skirts, leather trousers and shorts with plunging neckline tops, skater dresses and denim, all were among the elements that were sent out the runway. As for the shoes, they gave platform sandals and wedges a whole new meaning, a beautiful one.

ALEXANDER WANG

He has been dubbed as king of the accessories department and it’s clear why. Usually, I start by reviewing the clothes but shoes like this can’t be ignored. Like his fellow designer Altuzarra, Mr. Wang gave the gladiator a whole new spin, a minimal one. You can’t help but wonder how a couple of leather straps and a heel can shock so much (in a good way). There’s no explanation, this man just makes it work. Moving on to the clothes, it was all about the cut-out. Almost every look had them, almost every look rocked.

From barely there dresses with eternal slits to metallic tops, everything had that futuristic vibe with a sporty twist (Alexander Wang really knows how to handle the sporty trend). The thing no one expected? The lights went off, the dresses glowed. Now that’s what you call a killer finale.

PETER SOM

Thank you, Peter Som! Than you for keeping my beloved pastels around for Spring 2013, thank you for giving them a new twist and thank you for throwing in some florals into the mix. Som has proved to the fashion world that when it comes to prints, he is among the masters. This time, it was flowers, but not your usual kind of flowers, they were all ethereal and abstract. For his 2013 Spring collection, he paired up soft knits with printed hotpants (I know what I’ll be wearing next season), he mixed beautiful Jacquard jackets with delicate jumpers. The floral appliqué garments were definitely the highlight of the show.

Board shorts gone cute? Oh yeah, Mr. Som definitely pulled that off (expect Zara to go crazy with this next season). After the pastel party, the show got some rusty coating: mustard, burnt orange and gold. Matching tops and bottoms has definitely become one of the strongest trends at the moment and one Som has embraced beautifully. As for the accessories, the pointed court with the ankle wrap is going to be huge next Spring (Jason Wu, Jill Stuart and Prabal Gurung also had them on their show), so start saving up!

LOOK OF THE DAY

A neutral color palette is always bound to be a great hit. I love neutral color-blocking but this time, I wanted to try a neutral mash-up. A lantern, python print skirt and a textured jumper with an embellishment may not seem like the perfect match but when put together, the result is unbelievably beautiful. Here’s what I used for this ensemble.

Ten reviews down, a ton more to go! Bring the fashion on! Are you enjoying the Spring 2013 collections? I know I’m in love with Altuzarra’s edgy take on the gladiator shoe. See ya next post!

Sweet kisses…

SUMMER GETAWAYS 2012: The Jet-set Junkie (beachwear)

Greetings from Mexico City, my sweet readers! Summer is sizzlin’ and what better way to kick off our Getaways series than with the beachwear round (if you still have no clue what the Summer Getaways series is all about, please click HERE). We are starting this one with our lovely and snobbish Pearl, the Jet-set Junkie. So if you are the kind of girl that needs some outfit ideas for a day at the beach club, sipping some Dom, I whipped this up just for you!

This beach babe is all about the glitz and glamour. Nothing’s more glamourous and glitzy than mixing white with metallic shades and textures. An embellished kaftan or kimono can be the perfect item to make you stand out from the crowd.

  • Look for white bikinis with golden trim or with a silver detail (beware, white swimwear can betray you when wet).
  • Kimonos are great beach companions, you get to wear a cover-up and still show your bikini.
  • Detailed sandals are the way to go: chained, studded, embellished (just choose a delicate pair)
  • Keep your mani/pedi as neutral as possible.
  • For the glamour touch, square or round frame sunnies

WHAT PEARL’S WEARING

That’s it for our glam beach girl, tomorrow we will visit Jaime, the Party Girl! Be sure to check back!

Sweet kisses…

PS: NYC is two weeks away!

PFW COVERAGE: La Parisienne

Buongiorno! Sunny days are finally here in Milan, weather forecast is already showing 20º and I couldn’t be happier! As Spring approaches, so does my B-day and the end of this Fashion Month coverage. Today I have some stellar Parisian fashion, courtesy of Valentino, Carven, Nina Ricci, Miu Miu and the always genius, Givenchy. What to expect? Cuteness, lingerie, romance, darkness and more! Ready, set, go!

CARVEN

This is my favorite brand that shows in Paris, season by season it just blows me away. The style, the shapes, the colors are really, really what I’m into. For this season, the wonderful Guillaume Henry sent out the runway a collection inspired by the Medieval times. With that characteristic chic vibe, Henry went a little more dramatic this time. Color palette included shades that the designer used beautifully on his Spring collection: mustard and red. He paired them up with some burnt orange, classic black and the very resourceful, cobalt blue. Textures included tapestry, laser cut, dazzling prints and cut-outs. For the shapes, it was all so clean and pretty: A-line skirts, oversized coats, capes, blazers and perfectly tailored, cropped pants. The t-strap shoes were to die for and collars and cuffs peeked out from some garments. I want to be a Carven girl, I need to be a Carven girl!

VALENTINO

Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli’s dramatic romance has really become a trademark for the Italian brand. You can spot a creation by this duo from miles away. This collection was inspired by folk and may we say that the result was effortlessly beautiful. The show was packed with embellished gowns, structured and detailed coats, their signature colored leather and the classic Valentino red dress display. The air of femininity filled the catwalk with meticulous sheer inserts, Victorian lace, shimmering garments and pretty, ankle-strapped pumps. My favorite look, the long, nude dress with the flower embellishments and embroideries. Overall, it was fashion poetry…

GIVENCHY

Leave it to Signor Tisci to make an impact on the runway. Season after season, the Italian designer has worked his ass off to become one of PFW’s favorites. His genius, talent and construction skills just keep on sweeping us off our feet. As always, it was a dramatic and dark catwalk. His inspiration was clear: equestrian with the expected pinch of bondage. Leather was the main element on the show, it opened with a series of black, rubbery and structured numbers. His already signature sheer skirts also made it on to the runway over sexy enough, slip dresses. The boots were one of the highest notes and those slouchy, leather trousers (middle picture) are just pure French perfection. Riccardo Tisci just seems to always get it right, he is an all-time favorite that’s definitely here to stay.

NINA RICCI

It’s Peter Copping and his lingerie once again and we never get tired of it. Models strutted the catwalk with side-swept bangles and dramatic berry puckers and lovely, lovely garments. Nina Ricci is always about a game between seduction and cuteness. It was a neutral color palette with some hints of plum. Lacy and sheer slip dresses were paired up with heavy and structured coats. Volume (big trend of the season) played an important part with those puffy and printed numbers and soft fur embellished the perfectly tailored outerwear. The show had that Paris chic vibe that we all love so much. Special mention to the ankle-crossed pumps (BIG ACCESSORY TREND ALERT!) that complemented beautifully Copping’s sensual ensembles.

MIU MIU

Now that’s an unexpected turn. We were really getting used to Miuccia Prada’s cute and girly skirt parade and we kind of loved it. For this season, it was all about the menswear and the famous pantsuit. And guess what? We kind of love it too. With a jeweled color palette, Mrs. Prada sent out the runway a total of 37, perfectly tailored looks. The fabulous range of 70′s inspired prints (stripes, tapestry, hexagonal and more) created a game of optical illusion. Of course, some cute leg-flashing was present and some solid colors as well. As always, the shoes are definitely worth mentioning: loafers reinvented all the way. I always love Miuccia’s stuff, but I do have to admit that being a girly girl, I am more into her frilly and cute skirts and dresses.  Anyway, being objective, it was another amazing collection from the Italian designer extraordinaire.

LOOK OF THE DAY

This is definitely a Parisian macaron inspired look, and very appropriate to say bye, bye to those lovely furry coats that have kept us warm and stylish during the Winter (after all, Spring is almost here). I chose a pretty yellow playsuit from ASOS. The lace and front bow detail make it even cuter. For coverage, a striped furry coat in pale pink, also from ASOS. For leg coverage (this is going to be one of the last looks with tights), a Sweet’n'Raw favorite, Modcloth‘s spotty, white tights. For the shoes, keeping up with the pastel vibe, minty court shoes from CO-OP.

For the bag, a classic vintage Chanel one. This two-toned beauty is definitely a dreamboat. And since it’s all about lavish details, for jewelry: a pair of bow & pearl earrings from Kate Spade, a woven pink bracelet, a floral and butterfly one and a crystal stretch bangle. For the final touch, a pretty ring with an aquamarine stone from TOPSHOP and TOM FORD‘s Naked nail polish.

All the deets on today’s look can be found at FASHIOLISTA.

We are halfway through with our coverage and after that, a little giveaway and some Spring are on the horizon. Brace yourselves, fashionable ladies!

Sweet kisses…
